UK Bed Sizes - Bed Dimensions

Bed sizes will vary by design so please ask if you are unsure whether a certain bed will fit in your room, in general bedsteads come in 3 size-variations with sleigh shaped beds being very long, and wingback beds are wider while square-frame  Fabric Designer Beds are more compact. Please note adding gas-lift storage to a slatted bedstead will add 1-2" (~3-5cm) to the bed length.

3ft single, 4ft small double, 4ft6 double, 5ft king size and 6ft super king size are the standard UK bed sizes. These sizes refer to the mattress ie 3ft single, or 5ft king size. Each bed frame has it's own dimensions and all our bed frames take standard UK size mattresses.

Divan bases are the most compact, being the same width & length as UK mattress size, with the headboard adding 2-3cm to total bed length

Delivery and Returns

Every order placed is extremely important to us. We want our customers to feel satisfied throughout their entire experience with us. It's a small way we can say thank you for your order.

We deliver to UK mainland addresses only.

Our Delivery Days

Our handmade beds can take between 5 to 7 Working Days.

Deliveries are typically completed Monday to Sunday, 7am to 9pm, excluding Bank Holidays. In all cases, delivery date and time will be agreed with you beforehand.

Delivery Timelines

The delivery estimates quoted on this site are not guaranteed but can be used as reasonable expectation on when you should receive your order. We will do our utmost to meet our quoted timescales. Please note that delivery estimates differ according to delivery location.

Delivery to Remote Areas

We offer free delivery to all standard mainland UK areas with an estimated lead-time quoted above. 

Please note: Delivery times are between 7 am and 9 pm. Adverse weather conditions may delay your delivery. Bed Craft is not responsible for any loss, economic or loss of profit or otherwise, arising directly or indirectly from any delay in the delivery of the goods.

Highlands areas would be extra charge and up to 3 weeks.
Deliveries to other areas of Northern Scotland and South West England may have longer lead times and we estimate up to an additional 3 to 5 working days for some areas.

We do not deliver to Northern Ireland and Channel Islands.

Considering Access

It is your responsibility to ensure that the furniture you have ordered will fit into your home.

It is essential that you carefully measure where your furniture will be placed and consider the route our delivery team will take to get it there.

If you have any tight corners, narrow staircases and doorways or any other access related concerns, please email us to discuss.

Receiving Your Order

Your order will be scheduled for delivery once we have confirmed your order with you.

You will be contacted by a member of our team to discuss a delivery day & availability in your local area and your availability to receive the order.

Customers must be available at the delivery address to sign and acknowledge receipt and acceptance of the furniture.

Delivery Checks

Every piece of furniture sent out undergoes a rigorous quality assessment and is also re-checked against your order specifications.

Damage or inaccuracies are infrequent but can happen, so we ask that you check your products over after our team have unwrapped and assembled your handmade items. You will be asked to confirm and sign that you have taken receipt of products in excellent condition and according to your specification.

If you're not 100% happy when you inspect them, let our delivery team know or contact us so that we can immediately rectify the issue for you.
