The Norbury splits its headboard into two upholstered panels — a wide low back with a second panel standing behind it — which gives the bed depth from the side as well as the front. Most beds are designed to be seen head-on; this one holds up from the doorway. It stands on four turned solid wood legs in a matt finish, lifting the frame clear of the floor so the room still breathes underneath. The two-piece construction means more hand-work than a single board, and it is the detail that makes it feel like furniture rather than a bed base. Built to order in West Yorkshire in any of six bouclé colours.
