The Ashford keeps it simple: a tall channelled headboard in plush teddy fabric gives a room a focal point without needing anything else on the wall behind it. The vertical channels draw the eye up, which lifts a low ceiling, and the plush pile holds light differently through the day so the bed never looks flat. Underneath it is a proper piece of furniture: a hand-built frame, a sprung slatted base and upholstery that is stretched and tacked rather than stapled over foam. Made to order in West Yorkshire in any of six bouclé colours, with a choice of three headboard heights.
